Alumno Group is a property company which specialises in developing student housing and is a part of housing association Places for People. We were established in 2006 and work in partnership with universities, colleges and other key stakeholders to provide homes across major student towns and cities. This includes projects in Glasgow, St. Andrews, Birmingham, Norwich, Southwark (south London), Stratford (east London), Durham and Aberdeen.
The majority of universities have a pressing need for new accommodation and do not have the resources to provide it. We help by delivering much needed bed spaces which means students have great spaces to live and work in harmony with local communities. This also assists in reducing pressure on existing family housing and helps educational institutions grow.
Our vision is to create communities that appeal to a diverse range of students, while providing both sustainable and affordable accommodation.
We place great emphasis on fantastic architecture and placemaking with all our projects.
In 2017 we won the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) Best Residential award for our Powis Place, Aberdeen development and also the Brick Awards.
We have also been nominated for Best Refurbishment at the RIBA London Awards for our Southwark Town Hall student development in London.
At the December 2017 Student Accommodation Awards, Alumno was Highly Commended in the Best Developer Category.
